About Airline Details
Airline Details is an independent database of carry-on and checked-baggage rules for more than 180 airlines worldwide – researched from each airline's official sources and verified regularly. I build and maintain the site on my own: Christoph Burseg, Hamburg, Germany.
Why Airline Details exists
I'm Christoph from Hamburg, Germany, and I travel a lot. What kept getting on my nerves: how unreliable most airline websites are when you just want a quick answer – How much baggage can I bring? What size? What does it cost extra? The answer is usually buried behind click-paths, fine print and regional differences.
So I built Airline Details: a clean, well-structured database that answers exactly these questions for every airline – no ad banners, no upsells, no guesswork.
Our promise
- Free. No sign-up and no payment required.
- No login. No accounts, no subscriptions, no mandatory registration.
- Ad-free (for now). Currently no ads, no affiliate links, no redirects to booking sites.
- No tracking cookies. No ad or analytics cookies, no data selling.
- Regularly updated. Every airline page carries a “Last verified” date; we re-check entries regularly and when changes are known.
How we verify our data
- Official sources only. We research each airline's official website (baggage section) – never third-party portals. The specific source is linked at the bottom of every airline page.
- Core facts. Carry-on (weight + size), checked baggage (weight + pieces) per cabin class, plus key special rules.
- Verify & document. We record the verification date (“Last verified”). Conflicting figures (e.g. different country versions of an airline's site) are followed up.
- Publish & maintain. Pages go live only after cross-checking; known changes are updated.
What we can't guarantee: baggage and fee policies change regularly and can vary by region. The airline's own figures always take precedence – which is why the official source is linked under every entry.
